On May 25, 2026, the Taiwan Hsinchu District Prosecutors Office, following directives from the Supreme Prosecutors Office, held a ceremony to launch the "Election Monitoring Task Force." Chief Prosecutor Ko Yi-Fen led the initiative with representatives from various agencies to combat election-related corruption and violence, ensuring fair elections.
Chief Prosecutor Ko emphasized the multiple challenges this year's local elections face, including traditional bribery, digital gambling, and misinformation. The monitoring task force will enhance inter-agency cooperation to prevent election interference and encourage public participation in anti-corruption efforts.
Law enforcement and investigation representatives pledged to support the prosecutors' office in maintaining a safe and fair electoral environment, emphasizing neutrality and thorough investigation of any illegal activities.
The office stressed that all illegal election activities will be investigated rigorously, regardless of party affiliation. Citizens are encouraged to report any corruption or foreign interference via a dedicated hotline (0800-024-099 ext. 4), email (scc_election@mail.moj.gov.tw), or the official Line account (LineID: @417kolno). Rewards of up to NT$5 million for reporting bribery and NT$20 million for foreign interference are available, with confidentiality assured for whistleblowers.
Together, we aim to uphold the integrity of our elections and democratic principles.
