On May 6, 2026, the Taiwan Hsinchu District Prosecutors Office, in collaboration with the Taiwan After-Care Association Hsinchu Branch and the Hsinchu Toplus Lioneers Professional Basketball Team, held a Mother's Day care event titled "Path of Gratitude - Walking Together in Rebirth" at the Broadway Cinema in Zhubei City, Hsinchu County. This event aims to accompany rehabilitated individuals back to their families and society, showcasing the collaborative efforts of the judiciary, correctional services, education, and social resources.The event attracted numerous important guests, including Minister of Justice Cheng Mingqian, Chairman of the Taiwan After-Care Association Zhang Douhui, and various professionals from different sectors, all supporting the advancement of rehabilitative protection work.Minister Cheng emphasized during his speech that this year marks the 81st anniversary of rehabilitative protection work, which has consistently upheld the belief of "not giving up on anyone." Through employment guidance, family support, life care, and psychological companionship, it assists rehabilitated individuals in stabilizing their lives and reintegrating into society. He stressed that the judiciary not only pursues criminal activities and maintains social order but also should show humanity and provide opportunities for change. When rehabilitated individuals can return to their families and stabilize their lives, society becomes a safer and more harmonious place.Chairman Zhang Douhui of the Taiwan After-Care Association also shared his important views, stating that rehabilitative protection work requires joint efforts from the government and civil society. He mentioned that through the integration of judicial, correctional, educational, and social resources, we can more effectively assist rehabilitated individuals in reintegrating into society. The combination of anti-drug and anti-fraud campaigns with the participation of professional sports teams in this event exemplifies cross-industry cooperation.Chief Prosecutor Ke Yifen expressed that each rehabilitated individual's story reflects a challenging journey from deviation to return. He hopes to collaborate with more civil forces through a more flexible and compassionate approach, accompanying those willing to change in stabilizing their reintegration into society. Chief Prosecutor Ke also thanked the Hsinchu Toplus Lioneers for their collaboration in producing anti-drug and anti-fraud short films, which promote legal awareness and crime prevention while enhancing the public's ability to recognize fraud risks.The event featured a sharing session titled "Path of Gratitude - Walking Together in Rebirth," led by the Chairperson of the Hsinchu Branch of the After-Care Association, Chief Prosecutor Huang Zhenlun, and Editor Zhuo Tianren. They guided attendees in listening to the real-life stories of authors Jiang Yuanfu, Zhang Dengkai, and Jian Denghao. These narratives provided attendees with a concrete understanding of the challenges faced by rehabilitated individuals and the value of rehabilitative protection work.Additionally, a collaborative anti-drug and anti-fraud short film produced by the Prosecutors Office and the Hsinchu Toplus Lioneers was screened, with participating players sharing their filming experiences. These films utilize relatable scenarios to help the public enhance their awareness of fraud and drug risks.The event culminated in a screening of the film "The Sunshine Girls Choir," which depicts the restoration of relationships between incarcerated individuals and their families, as well as their efforts to reintegrate into society. Held on the eve of Mother's Day, the event underscored the precious yet challenging journey for many rehabilitated individuals to embrace change and become a source of comfort for their families.This Mother's Day care event effectively integrated the judicial, correctional, civil enterprises, professional sports teams, and local community resources, allowing rehabilitated individuals to feel that they are not alone on their path to rebirth.
