To raise public awareness of fraud, the Hsinchu District Prosecutors Office collaborated with the Police Broadcasting Station Hsinchu Branch. On February 9, 2026, Head Prosecutor Huang Zhenlun discussed the "Land swindler" real estate fraud cases, sharing insights on prevention.Huang noted that fraud often starts with deceptive phone calls or messages, leading to significant financial losses. He emphasized that preventing fraud is about increasing vigilance in daily life, similar to health precautions. The "Land swindler" scams target vulnerable groups, including the elderly, using forged documents to transfer property ownership. He reminded the public to actively manage their assets, particularly real estate, and introduced the "Preliminary Registration" system as a legal safeguard against unauthorized property disposals. He also recommended using tools like real-time notifications and address concealment for added protection. The office urged the public to remain vigilant, adhering to the "Three No's and One Must" principle: do not click unknown links, do not share sensitive information, do not trust guaranteed profits, and report suspected fraud by calling the 165 hotline. The office will continue efforts to enhance fraud prevention awareness and protect public assets.
