Hsinchu District Prosecutors Office Holds Regional Integrity Coordination Center Meeting to Jointly Combat Illegal Activities

To strengthen the business connections between the prosecution and local integrity agencies, the Hsinchu District Prosecutors Office convened the "Hsinchu Regional Integrity Coordination Center Meeting" on November 28, 2025. The meeting was hosted by Acting Chief Prosecutor Jiang Guichang and included a visit from Director Tsai Hsiu-ching of the Taiwan High Prosecutors Office’s Integrity Division. Attending were key officials, including Director Lian Xin-lan of the Hsinchu County Government Integrity Office, Deputy Director Tsai Yao-yang of the Hsinchu City Government Integrity Office, and supervisors from various central agencies, local governments, and state-owned enterprises in the Hsinchu area, totaling 45 participants.

In his opening remarks, Acting Chief Prosecutor Jiang expressed gratitude for the assistance and cooperation of local integrity agencies in anti-corruption, anti-fraud, and anti-vote-buying efforts. He expressed hope that the integrity office of the prosecutors’ office could serve as a coordination center to establish a horizontal and vertical network for integrity work in the region, promoting various integrity initiatives. He also pointed out that the population of Hsinchu County and City has been growing steadily over the past decade, along with the rising prosecution rates of corruption cases, reminding integrity units to consider the importance of anti-corruption efforts to reduce such cases.

Chief Prosecutor Qiu Zhiping gave a special report on the "Whistleblower Protection Act and Election Anti-Bribery Cases," helping the attending integrity personnel understand the newly implemented Whistleblower Protection Act. He mentioned that in light of the upcoming local elections for public officials and representatives on November 28 next year, the office would fully commit to election investigations and anti-vote-buying efforts, hoping that colleagues in the integrity office would work together to gather relevant intelligence to curb illegal activities and promote fair elections.

Finally, Acting Chief Prosecutor Jiang praised Section Chief Hou from the Hsinchu County Government Integrity Office for sharing how integrity work can be more relatable to the public through audio-visual presentations. He expressed his expectation that all integrity agencies would fulfill their roles in promoting integrity, assisting, and guiding their colleagues to actively perform their duties and avoid legal pitfalls.
